You already paid for the click. Most visitors leave anyway, not because they weren't interested, but because something on the page gave them a reason to hesitate. I rebuild ecommerce stores around buyer psychology and tested layouts, so more of the traffic you have today turns into revenue. Without raising your ad budget by a dollar.

Where the money leaks
Almost every underperforming store I audit is losing money in the same four places. Not one of them is fixed by spending more on ads.
Visitors can't tell what you sell, who it's for, or why it beats the alternative before they decide to leave. Ambiguity reads as risk.
Sizing, shipping, returns, will this actually work for me. The questions that stop a purchase are buried on another page or missing entirely.
Most of your traffic is on a phone, but the store was designed on a 27 inch monitor. Price below the fold, tap targets too small, a gallery that fights the thumb.
Surprise shipping costs, forced account creation and a slow cart drawer undo everything the page just earned.
Revenue calculator
Drop in your numbers from Shopify Analytics. This is the same arithmetic I run on the audit call, before I look at a single pixel.
The lift slider defaults to 35%, which sits below the average result across my last 30 builds. Move it to whatever you find believable. The point of the number is the size of the gap, not the decimal place.

How I work
Every layout choice traces back to a test I've run or a result I've measured. Hierarchy, offer placement, objection order, checkout flow. You get patterns that already worked instead of a moodboard.
I've tested enough headlines, layouts and offers to know which ones move the number and which ones quietly cost money. You inherit the winners without paying for the losers.
I read your reviews, support tickets and session recordings before I open a design file. The page answers the objections your actual customers have, in the order they have them.

Traffic is expensive. Customers are priceless. I work on the part that pays you back.

Sent in the week each project went live. Names and account details redacted.
Sam, you actually changed the game for us. We launched a week ago and conversion rate is up 42% on the same spend. Can we get on a call about doing this for the other two brands? I'd like to move fast on it.

Hi Sam, I love the way the desktop version looks. However, over 80% of our purchases happen on mobile and I have some feedback on that view. Other than that I think these may be my final edits.
Thank you so much, I love the way this is turning out.
I pretty much like everything you've done. It looks very professional and the copy actually sounds like us, which I genuinely did not expect from an outside designer.
I was reading the section on actionable suggestions for improvement. Is that what you need from me? Happy to get started on it right away.

Acquisition cost dropped 29% month over month and literally nothing changed on the media side. Our media buyer is quietly taking credit for it.
Send over the scope for phase two whenever you're ready.
The new landing page is converting at 4.1%. We were sitting at 1.8% for the last eighteen months and everyone told us that was normal for our category.
Our CEO loves the designs and so do I. Can we run the payment for development now rather than waiting on the scoping call?
You are spoiling us with the speed. The other agencies we spoke to quoted ten weeks for the same scope and one of them wanted a paid discovery phase before they'd even give us a number.
Sending the deposit for phase two this afternoon.
Incredible. You have only delivered and knocked this out of the park. Pumped to record a review video for you, just tell me what you want me to cover.
The new product page is unreal. We did more revenue yesterday than the whole of last week, and the size comparison module you insisted on has cut our support tickets by about 60%.
Tell me what invoicing you need.
On the record
"Sam builds the best converting stores I've worked with. Our site is a big part of why we can scale profitably at all."
Aaron W.Founder, skincare brand
"If you want a store that makes money rather than one that just looks expensive, this is who you call. He asked harder questions than our last agency ever did."
Bea L.Head of Growth, supplements
"We were told for two years that we needed more traffic. Turns out we needed a store that didn't lose 98% of it."
Jonah R.Co founder, coffee
How it runs
Five stages, roughly four weeks from the first call to a live store. You can walk away at stage three for free.
Thirty minutes on a screen share. I go through your analytics, session recordings and reviews with you and show you where the money is leaking. Yours to keep whether or not we work together.
Review mining, support ticket analysis, competitor teardowns and heatmap review. This is where the copy angles come from, not from a brainstorm.
Full store or page designed from scratch and revised until you're happy. If it still isn't right you pay nothing and keep the research. This is where the risk sits, so I carry it.
Developed, speed optimised, event tracking wired up, tested on real devices and shipped live. Balance due once it's running.
Launch is the starting line. Optional monthly testing keeps finding the next lift after the rebuild banks the first one.

The no nonsense guarantee
You shouldn't have to gamble on a designer you've never worked with. I design first. You see it finished. If it isn't right we part ways with no kill fee, no deposit kept, no argument, and you keep the research.
Book a free store audit callWho you actually get
I started out designing stores that clients loved and customers ignored. The work looked good in a portfolio and did nothing for revenue. Then a founder showed me his analytics after a redesign I was proud of, and conversion had gone down. That was the end of designing on taste.
Since then I've built stores for skincare, supplements, coffee, pet care and jewellery brands, and I run a Shopify Select Partner agency alongside the design work. That partner status matters for one practical reason: it means direct escalation into Shopify when a build hits a platform limit, rather than filing a ticket and waiting like everyone else.
The thing most designers get wrong is treating a store as a brand artefact instead of a sales conversation. Your customer isn't admiring your typography. They're deciding whether to risk their money on a company they'd never heard of ten minutes ago. Every element either reduces that risk or adds to it. Nothing is neutral.
I take on three projects a month so the research gets done properly on each one. If that sounds like the way you'd want this handled, start with the free audit call. You'll know inside thirty minutes whether I'm seeing things you aren't.
Before you ask
Roughly four weeks from kickoff to live for a full store, about two for a single landing page. The first design draft lands within a week. Most of the timeline is research and development rather than waiting on design.
Landing pages start at $2,500. Full store rebuilds run $6,000 to $15,000 depending on how many templates and how much custom development is involved. Ongoing testing retainers start at $2,000 a month. You'll get an exact number on the audit call rather than a range.
You pay a deposit to start. If you reach the end of the design stage and the work isn't right, the deposit comes back in full and you keep the research documents. I don't hold work hostage and there's no kill fee. It has happened twice in 62 projects.
Both. Design, development, speed optimisation, analytics and event tracking, and testing on real devices. If you have an in house developer who'd rather build it, I hand over the files and specs and stay available for questions.
Select is a tier Shopify grants agencies based on build volume, merchant outcomes and platform expertise. Practically it means direct escalation into Shopify support, early access to platform features, and someone who has already shipped this kind of build many times rather than learning on your account.
Below roughly 4,000 sessions a month, A/B testing produces noise rather than answers. At that stage the right move is a research led rebuild using established principles, then testing once volume supports it. I'll tell you which situation you're in on the call.
Usually the opposite. Most brand first stores are unclear rather than elegant. Clarity and persuasion sit perfectly well alongside a strong aesthetic. What they don't sit alongside is decoration that makes the customer work harder.
Thirty minutes on a screen share. I'll walk your analytics with you and show you the three fixes I'd make first. No pitch, no deck, no obligation.
